An exceptional and rare iteration of the legendary LC2 Club Chair (Model 231), originally conceived in 1928 by modern master architects Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, and Charlotte Perriand. Manufactured in Italy by Alivar circa 1980 as part of their esteemed 'Classics of Modern Furniture' edition, this piece showcases a bold departure from standard finishes with its pale blue lacquered tubular steel framework. The substantial upholstered cushions have developed a warm, rich brown patina over time, complementing the architectural rigour of the external metal skeleton. This specific example boasts distinguished provenance, having been acquired directly from the private collection of Italy's Museo della Sedia (Chair Museum), where it was documented in the museum's permanent inventory. It is also catalogued in Alivar's official literature ('The Classics of Modern Furniture', p. 223). A profound design statement for discerning collectors and contemporary interiors alike, retaining honest vintage character and authentic wear consistent with its heritage.
