An exceptional 1960s mid-century lounge set comprising Geoffrey Harcourt's iconic Model F588 swivel armchair and matching coffee table for Artifort. Retaining its original patterned upholstery and factory-stamped base, this rare pairing offers a magnificent restoration project for collectors.

An iconic piece of Dutch mid-century design, this rare Model F588 lounge chair was designed by Geoffrey Harcourt in the 1960s for the esteemed manufacturer Artifort. Offered here as a complete set together with its original matching coffee table, this pairing represents a quintessential vision of 1960s spatial aesthetics and ergonomic comfort. The armchair features an expressive shell silhouette atop a smooth swivelling metal base, complete with the manufacturer's factory stamp on the underside. The set currently wears its original patterned upholstery, which exhibits distinct signs of age and wear. While the swivel mechanism remains in full working order and the coffee table is presented in good vintage condition, the armchair would benefit from professional reupholstery. A rewarding acquisition for serious collectors of European design, this set provides an ideal foundation for a bespoke restoration project or a statement vintage interior.
