An exceptional and well-documented suite of six Italian armchairs designed by Antonio Virgilio and produced by Bernini in 1979. Representative of late 1970s Italian design, these pieces feature a rigorous architectural wooden framework paired with upholstered elements and distinctive black-tipped legs, carrying the original Bernini maker's mark. This specific set holds notable provenance, having been acquired directly from the private collection of the Italian Museo della Sedia (Chair Museum). Furthermore, the design has been published in architectural literature, appearing in the Italian design journal Ottagono (Issue No. 52, March 1979, featured in the article 'Per il gioco delle carte', and subsequently in Issue No. 64, March 1982). The armchairs are offered in their original vintage condition, prepared for professional restoration. We have deliberately chosen to preserve the frames in their authentic state, allowing the discerning buyer to select bespoke upholstery materials, textures, and tones tailored to their interior. Professional restoration can be coordinated to ensure the structural integrity is maintained while renewing the finish.
